Dr Bryan Tran

General, Upper GI and Hepatobiliary Surgery

Dr Bryan Tran is a general surgeon based in Sydney and on the Central Coast, NSW, with an interest in Upper GI, Bariatric and Hepatobiliary Surgery. Bryan obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of New South Wales, before undertaking his junior medical officer years at Liverpool Hospital, NSW. He completed his general surgical training on the Central Coast and Hunter New England Region. After being accepted to the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Bryan spent a further 2 years of subspecialty training in Bariatric, Hepatobiliary and Upper GI surgery; first at The Gold Coast University Hospital, Queensland, then at The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, NSW.

Academically, Bryan is a keen lecturer with the University of Newcastle, and also supervises general surgery trainees with the College of Surgeons. He has published and presented research both locally and internationally on various topics, including on cancer and non-cancer Upper GI/HPB surgery.
